Our trip was planned around seeing the Historic Town. The website indicated they were open on Tuesday, but alas they were closed. Our guide, Veronica confirmed this before our tour the next morning. So we did not see the Harpy Eagles and other exotic animals at the location.

We are a hiking club and taking a bus tour through the crowded city streets is a big mistake. After two hours we abandoned the bus and walked the malecon and Cerro Anna.

Guayaquil has a lot to offer and has a beautiful Malecon. Do not miss the sunset at the top of Cerro Anna from the lighthouse. See photos
