Day 1: Quito - Middle of the World - Pululahua Volcano
Today, see the best that the Quito area has to offer. Explore the colonial heart of Quito in Old Town, an area full of unique churches and beautiful government buildings. Visit el Panecillo - the small, rounded hill which dominates the old town, giving views of the city from the feet of the winged statue of the virgin on top. Or wander down La Ronda, a street made famous by its bohemian, romantic history. Continue to "La Mitad del Mundo," "the middle of the world," about 22 km north of Quito. Here, learn about cultures all around Ecuador, and experience phenomena that only occur directly on the equator. Finally, drive to the Pululahua Reserve to observe the crater of the extinct Pululahua volcano (300 meters deep and 4 km across) before returning to your hotel for the evening.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!

The staff at Adventure Life made planning my family's trip to the Galapagos Islands as easy as possible.
