Villa María Tayrona is located in the real wild jungle. The 45-acre property was purchased in 2003, and it has taken ten years to convert it from raw jungle to hotel. The original colonial house is two hundred years old, and it is preserved as much as possible.
A crew of artisans from central Colombia, Armenia, came to make the surrounding villages using bamboo wood. A suspension bridge connects the Villas with the restaurant and allows guests to avoid a longer walk on the stone path (although we suggest you walk the path and visit the Indian stone idol located on a giant rock).
