Step into the slippers of a local and snack your way around Moorea! "Tama'a," the Tahitian word for "eating," perfectly captures what you will be doing when you explore Moorea. During your culinary tour, you will sample and see authentic, locally discovered foods with distinctive flavors that the locals enjoy. The food on the islands consists of three cultures: Tahitian, Chinese, and French. During the Tama'a Street Food Tour, you will search for hidden culinary gems from every one of these cultures.
Examples of tasting available, depending on the season and availabilities: local seasonal fruits Mape (local chestnut), fresh coconut water, Casse-route Chao Mein, fresh tuna “Poisson cru”/raw fish with coconut milk (our national dish), Ma’a Tinito (another local favorite from the Chinese influences: pork, beans, noodles, veggies), Pai (local fruit pie or meat pie), Reti’a (like a local gelatin mochi), Bouchon (dumplings), coconut milk making, coconut bread with jam tasting, Ipo, juice and liquor tasting at the Rotui factory, artisan ice cream made in Moorea.
