Transfer from your Lima hotel to the South on the Pan-American Highway toward Pachacamac, located thirty minutes from Lima City. This archaeological complex, built-in 200 AD, is one of the most important Pre-Inca religious centers on the Peruvian coast. It originally belonged to the Ichma culture (although it was mostly built by the Wari people and subsequently conquered by the Incas); the sanctuary was the place of worship of Pachacamac, the god who created the world. The religious center, which houses several temples, operated for centuries until the arrival of the Spaniards when the fall of the Inca Empire finally started. After your visit to the citadel, head to a local hacienda for lunch in Lima's green countryside and Paso horse show. Return to your hotel at the end of the tour.

The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
