Day 1: Peruvian Paso Horseback Riding in the Sacred Valley Half Day Tour

You will be picked up from your hotel this morning and driven to the Paucarbamba bridge, where you will meet your horses. You will be riding the Peruvian Paso Horse, which is a breed of light pleasure saddle horse known for its smooth ride, in the Sacred Valley. Native to Peru, it is distinguished by a natural, four-beat, lateral gait called the paso llano. This breed is protected by the Peruvian government and has been declared a Cultural Heritage of the Nation by the National Institute of Culture. Your ride today will cross the Urubamba River to see spectacular scenery with snow-covered mountains, agricultural terraces and the Inca trail. You will continue riding until arriving at the Inca Bridge, where your driver will be waiting for you. Return to your hotel after your ride.

This trip is approximately 4 hours with 2 hours of riding. It is easy difficult level, and no experience is required. There is a group minimum of four travelers.

Standard horses are also available in place of Peuvian Paso. Maximum rider weight is 187 lbs.

The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
