Day 1: Tres Cruces

  • 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
We will leave Cusco early in the morning and start the ride to Qolqepata (2.5 hours). We will then arrive to Paucartambo, have lunch, rest for a short while, and visit the town.

After lunch, transfer by vehicle to Tres Cruces, where we will camp and have a beautiful view of the Amazon Basin below. (2.5 hours of riding). Total biking distance today of 45 km.

Day 2: Manu Biosphere Reserve

The day begins with a sunrise over the rainforest and a hearty breakfast before a downhill ride into the cloud forest (4 hours). We will have lunch on way and spend the night in the cloud forest. (4 hours of riding) Total biking distance today of 50 km.

Day 3: Manu Biosphere Reserve

In the early morning, take a short hike to spot the “Gallito de las Rocas” (Cock of the Rocks), an endemic bird which flocks together in the mornings to search for females. After breakfast, start the ride downhill until Chontachaca town, where the landscape flattens out.

We will have lunch in Pilcopata and start riding towards Atalaya. Board a boat which will take us downstream through the Upper Madre de Dios River to our jungle lodge where we will spend the night. There is an optional night walk through the forest to search out nocturnal animals and to enjoy the sounds of the forest. Total biking distance today of 40 km.

Day 4: Return Cusco

  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch
We will have breakfast early in the morning and head back to Cusco by vehicle. There is the option for riders to bike between Ajcanaco pass (11,500 ft) and Paucartambo, a downhill ride. Arrive in the evening to Cusco. Optional biking distance today of 20 km.
