Day 1: Valletta, Malta | Embark

Valletta is the tiny capital of the island of Malta. The walled city was established in the 1500s on a peninsula by the Knights of St. John, a Roman Catholic order. It has a rich historical past and is a European Art City and a World Heritage City. It has an abundance of museums, palaces, and grand churches to visit, but be sure not to miss out on exploring one of its beautiful gardens.

Day 2: Gozo, Malta

The charm of Malta's sister island, Gozo, is immediately apparent. Steeped in myth, Gozo is considered the legendary Calypso's isle of Homer's Odyssey. It's green, rural, and calm, relying on fishing, agriculture, and tourism. It is one of the Mediterranean's top diving destinations, with an incredible range of shore and boat dives, including reefs, caves, and wrecks. There are also knights' watchtowers, tiny chapels, and beautiful, peaceful beaches to explore.

Day 3: At Sea

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges and a peaceful library.

Day 4: Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy

Cagliari is the capital city of the Italian island of Sardinia. It's known for its hilltop Castello, a medieval walled quarter high above. The rest of the town. It has a rich and varied heritage reflected in its buildings, including Baroque churches, Medieval towers, Italian Art Nouveau, and Roman stonework. Sardinia's fabled beaches are also accessible; as you would expect, the restaurants in and around the town are excellent, too.

Day 5: At Sea

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges and a peaceful library.

Day 6: Mahon | Menorca | Balearic Islands, Spain

Gracious Georgian buildings that climb the steep hills backing the Moll Ponent. Mahon's heritage also includes the invention of mayonnaise and the first gin distillation from juniper berries.

Day 7: Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain

Towering over the harbor, Palma's enormous Gothic Cathedral is a powerful symbol of the religious fervor that gripped all of Spain shortly after the defeat of the Moors. Built by Jaume I, its vast open nave, and soaring Gothic columns have been added to over the centuries. Behind the Cathedral, a maze of twisting streets leads to designer boutiques and open-air markets.

Day 8: Ibiza, Balearic Islands, Spain

Ibiza is where people hang out because, except for the medieval walls, you could almost think it was the Med's version of Key West. But away from the hustle of town, some lovely beaches await.

Day 9: Cartagena, Spain

The city's naval, maritime, and historical museums provide insight into the 2,000 years this city has been a significant port. It's now developing into a vibrant tourist attraction. Phoenicians, Romans, and Moors used the deep water harbor and walled town before the Spanish navy. Visit Torres Park and the Castillo de la Concepciラn for the best views in the city.

Day 10: Motril, Spain

Motril is located in the Spanish region of Andalucia on the Costa Tropical. Nestling at the foothills of the Sierra Lujar mountains, the town's coastal strip includes two main beaches - the busy Playa Poniente and the quieter Playa Granada.

Day 11: Malaga, Spain

Malaga's fortress palace of the Alcazaba and the Castillo de Gibralfaro are splendid examples of Moorish architecture. But it is in Granada that you can see the most romantic and magnificent expression of the Arabesque style in the glorious Alhambra Palace.

Day 12: Gibraltar, British Overseas Territory

Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory and headland on Spain's south coast. It's dominated by the Rock of Gibraltar, a 426m-high limestone ridge. The Cable Car is one of the ways to the Top of the Rock and a must-see attraction for all visitors to Gibraltar. The view is spectacular; you can watch the island's famous apes. A lesser-known wildlife attraction is the dolphins leaping in the sparkling waters of Gibraltar Bay. Whole families of dolphins visit the bay, and the chances of seeing them are good.

Day 13: Tangier, Morocco

Tangier was the model for the famous American film Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. It retains its faded mongrel charm - not entirely Moroccan, European, or African, but a heady mix of all three.

Day 14: Cadiz, Spain

Cadiz, called 'the cup of silver,' is almost African in appearance; its streets are lined with palm trees, and its churches are topped with dome-like cupolas. Please take advantage of the optional tours to Seville, the irresistible capital and cultural center of Andalusia, with its colorful and festive lifestyle.

Day 15: At Sea

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges and a peaceful library.

Day 16: Safi, Morocco

Safi is mainly modern, home to a fishing port and diversified industries. The old town which lies within the city is still very much alive. Here, you may be tempted to buy pottery typical of this part of the region.

Day 17: At Sea

Day 18: Arrecife, Canary Islands, Spain

Arrecife is the diverse and exciting capital of Lanzarote. It has a striking golden sand beach sheltered by a reef and a great selection of bars and restaurants. Worth a visit is The Castillo de San Gabriel in the center, with its impressive drawbridge constructed in 1599 to help defend against pirate attacks. The gorgeous little La Recova market is tucked away, and there is a selection of artisan craft shops and a fresh food market on the weekdays.

Day 19: Puerto del Rosario, Canary Islands

  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Puerto del Rosario is the capital of Fuerteventura and is known for its whitewashed houses and open-air artworks, including giant snail sculptures along the harbor promenade. From here, you can easily explore the island's attractions, such as the Islote de Lobos Nature Reserve. For the energetic, windsurfing is a popular choice as Fuerteventura is one of the best places in the world to do sailing sports.

Day 20: Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
This 15th-century city with a semitropical colonial ambiance is a favorite stopping place for yachts crossing the Atlantic. Visit the Casa Colon, named for the great explorer, and explore your own by adventuring to the volcanic crater of Caldera de Bandama. Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.
