Day 1: Valletta, Malta | Embark

Valletta, the tiny capital of Malta, is steeped in history and charm. Founded in the 1500s by the Knights of St. John, this fortified city perches on a picturesque peninsula, showcasing its rich Roman Catholic heritage. Designated as a European Art City and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Valletta boasts a treasure trove of museums, palaces, and grand churches. Amidst its architectural splendor, don’t miss the chance to stroll through one of its enchanting gardens, offering serene views and a tranquil escape.

Day 2: Gozo, Malta

The allure of Malta's sister island, Gozo, is instantly captivating. Enveloped in myth and legend, Gozo is often considered Calypso's isle from Homer's Odyssey. This tranquil gem is lush, rural, and serene, thriving on fishing, agriculture, and tourism. Renowned as one of the Mediterranean's premier diving destinations, it offers various shore and boat dives featuring vibrant reefs, mysterious caves, and historic wrecks. Beyond its underwater wonders, Gozo invites exploration of Knights' watchtowers, quaint chapels, and idyllic, unspoiled beaches.

Day 3: At Sea

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges and a peaceful library.

Day 4: Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy

Cagliari is the capital city of the Italian island of Sardinia. It's known for its hilltop Castello, a medieval walled quarter high above the rest of the town. It has a rich and varied heritage reflected in its buildings, including Baroque churches, Medieval towers, Italian Art Nouveau, and Roman stonework. Sardinia's fabled beaches are also accessible; as you would expect, the restaurants in and around the town are excellent, too.

Day 5: At Sea

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges and a peaceful library.

Day 6: Mahon | Menorca | Balearic Islands, Spain

Gracious Georgian buildings that climb the steep hills backing the Moll Ponent. Mahon's heritage also includes the invention of mayonnaise and the first gin distillation from juniper berries.

Day 7: Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain

Towering over the harbor, Palma's enormous Gothic Cathedral is a powerful symbol of the religious fervor that gripped all of Spain shortly after the defeat of the Moors. Built by Jaume I, its vast open nave, and soaring Gothic columns have been added over the centuries. Behind the Cathedral, a maze of twisting streets leads to designer boutiques and open-air markets.

Day 8: At Sea

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges and a peaceful library.

Day 9: Cartagena, Spain

Cartagena is a historic port city steeped in rich history and fascinating culture. Nestling between the hills and the Mediterranean Sea, the city offers an enchanting mix of historic sites, including the Roman Theatre, picturesque beaches, and a lively atmosphere.

Day 10: Motril, Spain

Motril is a vibrant port city steeped in history, culture, and Mediterranean charm on Spain's southern coast. It is a popular seaside destination with beautiful beaches, historical monuments, and culinary delights. Motril is an excellent base for exploring the city of Granada, the villages of the Alpujarras, or the rum distillery and tropical fruit plantation.

Day 11: Malaga, Spain

Malaga's fortress palace of the Alcazaba and the Castillo de Gibralfaro are splendid examples of Moorish architecture. But it is in Granada that you can see the most romantic and magnificent expression of the Arabesque style in the glorious Alhambra Palace.

Day 12: Tangier, Morocco

Tangier was the real model for the famous American film 'Casablanca' with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. It retains its faded mongrel charm - not entirely Moroccan, European, or African, but a heady mix of all three.

Day 13: Gibraltar, British Overseas Territory

Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory and headland on Spain's south coast. It's dominated by the Rock of Gibraltar, a 426m-high limestone ridge. The Cable Car is one of the ways to the Top of the Rock and a must-see attraction for all visitors to Gibraltar. The view is spectacular, and you can see the famous monkeys in Gibraltar. A lesser-known wildlife attraction is the dolphins leaping in the sparkling waters of Gibraltar Bay. Whole families of dolphins visit the bay, and the chances of seeing them are good.

Day 14: Cadiz, Spain

Cadiz called 'the cup of silver,' is almost African in appearance; its streets are lined with palm trees, and its churches are topped with dome-like cupolas. Take advantage of the optional tours to Seville, the irresistible capital and cultural center of Andalusia, which has a colorful and festive lifestyle.

Day 15: At Sea

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges and a peaceful library.

Day 16: Safi, Morocco

Safi is an industrial center and thriving port. Most tourists use it as a base to take excursions to Marrakech ou Essaouira or explore the old town. Here, you may be tempted to buy pottery typical of this part of the region.

Day 17: At Sea

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges and a peaceful library.

Day 18: Arrecife, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain

Lanzarote captivates visitors with its impressive landscapes, sometimes reminiscent of the surface of Mars, but also with the miracle that emerges from its volcanic soil. Vines are grown here, creating a spectacular wine-growing landscape that is unique in the world. Arrecife, the lively capital, has a magnificent golden sandy beach protected by volcanic reefs. The Castillo de San Gabriel and the drawbridge built in 1599 to help defend against pirate attacks are well worth a visit.

Day 19: Santa Cruz Tenerife

The island of Tenerife is bisected by steep volcanic mountains cut by garden-like valleys lush with flowers and vegetation. In the capital of Santa Cruz's anthropological museum, learn about the original inhabitants of Tenerife, the Stone Age Guanche people. Not to be missed is a spectacular drive into the mountains, where 3,718-meter Mount Teide, Spain's tallest mountain, is covered in snow much of the year.

Day 20: Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
This 15th-century city with a semitropical colonial ambiance is a favorite stopping place for yachts crossing the Atlantic. Visit the Casa Colon, named for the great explorer, and explore your own by adventuring to the volcanic crater of Caldera de Bandama. Its lunar landscape and exotic vegetation take you to a new world.
