The Alcazaba and Castillo de Gibralfaro in Malaga showcase stunning Moorish architecture, but Granada’s Alhambra Palace offers the most romantic and breathtaking example of the Arabesque style.
Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory on Spain's southern coast, is famed for the iconic 426-meter-high Rock of Gibraltar. A ride on the Cable Car to the Top of the Rock is a must, offering breathtaking views and the chance to observe the island's famous Barbary macaques. Beyond the Rock, Gibraltar Bay is home to playful dolphins, often seen leaping through its sparkling waters—an unforgettable wildlife experience with a high chance of sightings.
Tangier was the real model for the famous American film "Casablanca" with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. It retains its faded mongrel charm - not entirely Moroccan, European, or African, but a heady mix of all three.
Cadiz, called 'the cup of silver,' is almost African in appearance; its streets are lined with palm trees, and its churches are topped with dome-like cupolas. Take advantage of the optional tours to Seville, the irresistible capital and cultural center of Andalusia, which has a colorful and festive lifestyle.
Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Alternatively, you can wander the interior areas of the ship and discover relaxing lounges and a peaceful library.
Safi is an industrial center and thriving port. Most tourists use it as a base to take excursions or explore the old town. Here, you may be tempted to buy pottery typical of this part of the region.

Arrecife is the diverse and interesting capital of Lanzarote. It has a striking golden sand beach sheltered by a reef and a great selection of bars and restaurants. Worth a visit is The Castillo de San Gabriel in the center, with its impressive drawbridge constructed in 1599 to help defend against pirate attacks. The gorgeous little La Recova market is tucked away, and there is a selection of artisan craft shops and a fresh food market on weekdays.
The island of Tenerife is bisected by steep volcanic mountains cut by garden-like valleys lush with flowers and vegetation. In the capital of Santa Cruz's anthropological museum, learn about the original inhabitants of Tenerife, the Stone Age Guanche people. Not to be missed is a spectacular drive into the mountains, where 3,718-meter Mount Teide, Spain's tallest mountain, is covered in snow much of the year.
Day 10: Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Spain | Disembark
1 Breakfast
This 15th-century city with a semitropical colonial ambiance is a favorite stopping place for yachts crossing the Atlantic. Its lunar landscape and exotic vegetation take you to a new world. Disembark after breakfast and continue your independent trip back home.
