Day 1: Cannes, France | Embark

Glittering Cannes is the archetypal Mediterranean resort city discovered by wealthy English nobles who came to the sunny south of France to escape their drafty old castles during the dreary British winters. Cannes’ high-flying lifestyle has attracted notables and has been notorious ever since. The stars flock to celebrate the Cannes Film Festival at the colossal Palais des Festivals every year.

Day 2: Portofino, Italy

Portofino is a fishing village on the Italian Riveria coastline. Its pastel-colored houses, luxury boutiques, and seafood restaurants surround its Piazzetta, a small cobbled square overlooking the harbor lined with super-yachts. A short walk takes you to the Church of St. George, a church with a cool, plain interior dramatically situated on the narrow neck of the Portofino headland. As a lookout point and probably a site of religious significance, the spot goes back thousands of years.

Day 3: L'ile Rousse, Corsica, France

Ile Rousse ("red island") is a little town in the Balagne region (northwest of Corsica), some 25 km from Calvi. It is popular with visitors but still retains its local character. Place Paoli at the town center is a shady square bordered by tall plane trees and outdoor cafés. It is a lively spot and a great favorite, with locals gathering to play pétanque (French bowls). The old town's traditional grid street system is also worth visiting.

Day 4: Calvi, Corsica

Napoleon once said that he could recognize his native island blindfolded because of the wonderful perfume of the maquis. Approaching by sea is the first thing you experience about Corsica. The second is its wild and mountainous landscape. Nearby are secluded beaches and the eerie Grottes des Veaux Marins, offering fantastic diving opportunities.

Day 5: Plage Saint Antoine, Corsica

This beautiful wild beach is not easily accessible from the road, making it so special. It’s surrounded by breathtaking scenery and crystal-clear waters.

Day 6: Saint Raphael, France

Saint-Raphaël, a picturesque town on the French Riviera, exudes a serene charm that beckons travelers seeking a quieter escape along the Mediterranean coast. With its sandy beaches, a bustling marina, and a backdrop of the stunning Esterel Mountains, Saint-Raphaël offers a delightful mix of natural beauty and leisure. Visitors can explore the historic Old Town with its quaint squares, colorful buildings, and local markets while enjoying water sports, hiking, and golf. The town's proximity to the stunning red rocks of the Esterel Massif makes it a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Saint-Raphaël's Mediterranean climate, vibrant cultural scene, and the tranquil allure of its coastal landscapes create a perfect retreat for those searching for a more relaxed and authentic Riviera experience.

Day 7: St. Tropez (Beach and Port), France

It is said that the most spectacular way to approach the exquisite harbor of St. Tropez is by sea. St. Tropez is a people-watchers paradise, so you can also want to explore her famous beaches, bistros, and bars. The appropriately named Tahiti Plage is where topless sun tanning started, and whether you prefer to take it off or take it all in, there's always plenty to see in St. Tropez.

The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
