Rothenburg is a traditional medieval village with the city wall still intact surrounding the town. It's a great stop for travelers who want to see a quintessential Bavarian town and they have a fantastic Christmas shop that spans several floors.
We visited some of my dear friends, Edith and Harald, who live nearby and took all the kids to explore. You can easily spend a full day here shopping, tasting local specialties and just wandering the narrow alleyways. With the kids, we also built in time to explore the playground and wander the wall itself that has lovely views of the city.
