We said goodbye to one set of very good friends and drove to meet up with others, this time in Bavaria close to the Czech Republic border. Near to their village is a sweet tourist stop called Pottenstein. This mountain village offers beautiful scenery and also a lot of kid friendly activities such as a bobsled track and outdoor climbing/ ropes course. We maximized our day at both. The bobsled park also has an incredible lookout bridge suspended across the valley where you can walk out for stunning views! The girls loved it, though I got queasy looking over the edge.
The climbing park offers at least 10 different routes, labelled by difficulty and recommended age. They gave us a very detailed lesson before we started and then we were allowed to explore on our own, using their two point safety system that always insures you are connected somewhere.
The structures ranged from traditional climbing walls to ziplines and other creative obstacles suspended in the air.
