It was a short 2 hour drive to Salzburg with lovely views of the nearby mountains. We arrive at the airport and dropped off our rental car then took a 20 minute bus ride to our hotel. The hotel was nestled in an older section of the city with narrow streets and plenty of outdoor restaurant options. During dinner Beth came to the realization that ’The Sound of Music’ was based in and partially filmed in Salzburg, so she and Jenna planned a few must see stops for the next day. Naturally, ‘The Sound of Music’ was more important historically than the small-time musician Mozart.
We mapped out our points of interest the next day and set off into the city. We made a quick summit of Kapuzingerburg for the views of the city. With a short walk through Kapitelplatz and a quick ride up the Festbahn we arrived at the Salzburg fortress. The fortress now operates as a museum of it’s own history as the home of the archbishop of Salzburg. Access to the majority of the fortress was included with our purchased tickets. I found it interesting that the majority of the history of the fortress was military driven, even though it’s primary function was the home of the Salzburg diocese. Next we visit a small catacomb below the fortress and the nearby St. Peter abby.
After a quick stop at some local vendors in Kapitelplatz we were off to recreate some movie magic. The ladies had done some research the night before to find some filming locations, and to their delight we found that our map already had included destinations for ‘The Sound of Music’. We traipsed around the city in mid-day heat to fountains, parks and gardens doing our best to avoid the number of other visitors. In Mirabellegarten there was a visiting choir performing some pieces by Mozart, listening under the shade of a nearby tree was a nice reprieve. I suggested and everyone agreed that we should return to Mirabellegarten after dinner when it would be cooler with fewer other tourists around, it was close to our hotel and and several scenes were filmed there. That evening we set out to capture a few more scenes and wandered the city with our friends for our last night together.
Very well ececuted. Hily recomended. Great experiance

Belize adventures
I've worked with Adventure Life before in planning trips and appreciate the quality of trips they put together. They use knowledgeable local guides, comfortable lodgings, and assist with transportation. I find trip planning stressful, so am happy to turn it over to them. They work within our parameters of time, budget, activity level, and types of activities to give us great experiences!

We have been working with Adventure Life for 5 years now and it is very easy to plan out our trips. Our holidays include customization of activities and side trips along with the standard packages available on the Adventure Life website. Kevin, Jess, Mary Rose and their teams have many recommendations that have enhanced our travel.

We went to the Patagonia on the Chile side and Perito Moreno in El Calafate, Argentina. Eric of San Diego handled our trip with expertise. The preparation went smoothly, despite some changes on our part with scheduling conflicts. He offered great advice which made us feel at ease with all decisions on the trip. It was truly a great experience.
