Winding from coastal Portugal into the heart of Spain, the Douro River is probably most famous for the Port wine that is produced in this temperate region, but it is also a great destination for hikers of all levels. Start out in Pinhao to see the mountainous scenery, granite statues, deep valleys, and remote villages of Natural Park of Alvão.
