Day 1: Arrive in Ushuaia

Don't stress about missed connections or flight delays as you arrive with an extra day to unwind and enjoy Ushuaia’s finest luxury hotel, the Arakur Resort & Spa. Relax in the infinity pool, explore the hiking trails surrounding the resort, or head out and discover the southernmost city in the world.

Day 2: Ushuaia

Explore the sights of Ushuaia such as the museums and Argentinean leather markets or continue relaxing at the hotel. Attend the optional evening briefing for the opportunity to ask questions and meet some of your fellow travelers.

Day 3: Embarkation Day

Spend your morning hiking, exploring Ushuaia, or unwinding at the resort until our mid-afternoon transfer to the ship. Feel the anticipation as our Expedition Team and ship staff greet you on board, followed by a safety and orientation briefing and our lively Captain’s Welcome Dinner. You’re now on your way to Antarctica!

Day 4-5: Drake Passage

Join your Polar Experts as they teach you about everything Antarctic, from wildlife to history; participate in the renowned Citizen Science program; or sit back and take in this fabled journey while catching exciting glimpses of wildlife. Grab your binoculars to identify the many seabirds that follow the ship as you cross the Antarctic Convergence into Antarctic waters and noticeably cooler temperatures.

Day 6-7: South Shetland Islands

As you catch your first unforgettable glimpse of an iceberg, the reality of your upcoming adventure begins to sink in. You've reached the volcanic South Shetland Islands with their amazing abundance and untouched natural beauty – on land, in the water, and in the air.

From the comfort and safety of your Zodiac, artfully dodging the early season’s brash ice and “bergy bits,” you anticipate your first face-to-face encounter with Antarctica’s majesty.

Day 8-10: Antarctica

Here you’ll explore any number of picturesque bays and famed harbors, maneuvering through majestic channels as you travel the wildlife-rich waters. There are great opportunities to stop at several active scientific bases and historic landing sites as you spot numerous species of penguins, seals, and whales along the rugged coastlines and in the sea.

Day 11-12: Drake Passage

You leave this magical place and make your way north, once again crossing the legendary Drake Passage. You have one last hurrah as you celebrate New Year’s Eve at the bottom of the earth and conclude your expedition with a special slideshow and a final meal together.

Day 13: Ushuaia | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
With huge smiles on weary, content faces, you disembark in the morning, letting you catch a flight to Buenos Aires or stay in Ushuaia for more sights and adventure.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
