Day 1: Arrive Kenai Riverside Lodge

Today you meet your group leader in a downtown hotel in Anchorage or at the airport at a predetermined time, around mid-afternoon. From here you are shuttled along the Turnagain Arm to Cooper Landing, the home of Kenai Riverside Lodge and an important access point for you to Kenai Backcountry Lodge tomorrow. Settle into your cabin tonight and enjoy dinner in the lodge as you get ready for tomorrow's rafting adventure.

Day 2: Kenai River Rafting

Today you will be on the river for a rafting adventure into the backcountry! Set out on the turquoise blue waters of the Kenai River into the nearly 2 million acre Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Follow the river's pace as you embark on a full day river float trip on your raft. Arrive to your home for the next two nights, Kenai Backcountry Lodge, situated along a glacier carved lake accessible only by boat.. This river trip transports you to the remote Alaska wilderness than many people hope to encounter. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife all along the way. Stop for a picnic lunch and raft class II rapids through the Kenai Canyon. Finish up with some scenic exploration along the lake before heading back to the lodge in time for dinner this evening. This rustic lodge offers nine guest cabins nestled in along the shore and amazing creature comforts despite its remote location, such as down comforters, private bathrooms, heating and light! Settle in for the evening.

Day 3: Kenai National Wildlife Refuge

Today is free for you to choose the activities that most entice you! Enjoy a hot breakfast and set out for your adventure. Take a guided hike, venturing through the evergreen forest as you journey towards alpine tundra and breathtaking scenery. Relax in the cozy wood-fired sauna today, or opt to go for a quick chilly swim in the lake! Set out to spot wildlife on a leisurely walk if you choose. Moose, bears, and caribou are some of the creatures that call this area home. Keep your eyes peeled as well for a number of local birds. Enjoy the magic of the wilderness scenery throughout the day and wind down to appetizers and dinner with a gourmet flair this evening.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
