Moderately active but not overly strenuous. This level includes activities like casual cycling, yoga, or excursions/activities that typically last 3-5 hours total each day.
Arrive to Phnom Penh today where you are met at the airport and set out on the long drive south to Kampot (approximately 3 hours). Along the way stop at multiple places including Tonle Bati where you see Ta Prohm of Bati, and then at Yeay Peau temples. Continue to Phnom Chisor and climb the hill to enjoy a spectacular view of the surrounding plains. Arrive to Kampot and check into your hotel for some relaxation from your journey.
This evening enjoy a sunset cruise on the Kam Pot river. As you cruise on the river you will see locals engaged in variety of daily activities including fishing, their traditional river houses, and views of the Damrei Mountains (Elephant Mountains).
Set out from your hotel this morning to meet your English-speaking guide and your bicycle. The ride will take you through rice fields and durian and rambutan orchards against the scenic backdrop of the mysterious 'Elephant Mountains.' Stop at local villages along the way to meet and speak with local people. Your guide will help translate, and if you are feeling adventurous, try out a few words in Khmer - they are always delighted to hear you try!
Your final destination will be the rapids on the Kampot River. Stop here for a swim in the cool waters and enjoy a leisurely picnic lunch. Then transfer back to your hotel.
Start your day at leisue after breakfast at your hotel, where you will be picked up by your local TukTuk driver and transferred to the Koh Tonsay pier. Hop on a local boat for the 30-minute journey to Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay), where secluded white sand beaches and coconut trees await. While not the pristine, crystal clear paradise associated with many islands in Southeast Asia, Rabbit Island is a charming, quiet and relaxing place to laze away the day. Enjoy a variety of corals, sea animals, and plants in this area as you enjoy the day swimming in the shallow waters. Pick your sun chair, settle in for the day and enjoy a feast of cheap, fresh and delicious seafood for lunch on your own and perhaps a few cold beers.
After a relaxing day, toward the end of the afternoon, board your local boat back to the mainland. Return to Kep in the evening as the sun sets over the Gulf of Thailand.
Today set out with your driver to explore the famous Crab Market in Kep. This market is well known for selling the sweetest crab meat in all of Cambodia. After the market stop, continue two and a half hours to Sihanoukville. Drop off at the pier for taking a shuttle boat transfer to Koh Rong.
Enjoy a free day at your leisure on what is arguably the most beautiful island in Cambodia, Koh Rong Samloem. This is the second largest island in the chain, and here you can enjoy 3 miles (5 km) of white sand beach, along with mountains, waterfalls, and freshwater streams that run down to the ocean.
Day 6: Return Phnom Penh

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
