Requires the highest level of physical challenge and performance. Includes tours involving strenuous multi-day trekking or summit hikes. The majority of the hours in most days are physically active. Travelers will need intensive training in advance to meet the physical demands on these trips.
La Paz is framed by awe-inspiring snowcapped mountains which give this city the honor of the highest capital in the world. La Paz is a city of contrasts, containing both ancient and modern structures, all protected by the "Guardian of La Paz", Mount Illimani. Visit Plaza Murillo, where the cathedral and the Government Palace are located. Then, continue to the famous colonial street Calle Jaén where the city's museums are clustered together, followed by a visit to the typical Mercado de las Brujas, or the Witches’ Market, located along narrow streets near the San Francisco Church. Founded in 1549, the church is located in a great area to find traditional handicrafts and artwork. The tour continues to Obrajes, Calacoto, and La Florida residential areas in the south and the well known Moon Valley, where erosion has created exotic and curious surface forms.
Return to your hotel after your tour to relax and explore on your own for the rest of the afternoon and evening.
Located one hour from La Paz is Tihuanaco (also spelled Tiwanaku), ruins of an ancient city near the south shore of Lake Titicaca. Tihuanaco is believed to be the ceremonial center for a pre-Inca civilization settled in 600 BC and represents one of the greatest architectural achievements of pre-Inca South America. Little is known about this culture as it mysteriously disappeared around 1200 AD. Visit the archaeological site and museum with your guide. Return to your hotel in La Paz for the evening.

Good to ideal period to travel, and many people choose to visit at this time.
Chance for unpredictable weather but with fewer visitors.
Typically not offered during this period because of weather conditions.
Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.
Plans were described and booked with efficiency and speed. Adventure LIfe is outstanding in travel planning.
