Day 1: Arrive in Zimbabwe

Take the hour and a half flight from Harare to Mana Main airstrip. From here drive to your tented camp, home for the next two nights.

Nestled in Zimbabwe's Mana Pools National Park, this mobile camp offers a rustic yet comfortable escape amid untamed nature. Set along the Zambezi River, the camp features six Meru-style tents with modern amenities and ensuite bathrooms.

Guests can unwind under the stars by the communal dining area and swimming pool, while evenings are spent around a campfire, sharing stories and forming bonds. Guided activities include canoe safaris, game tracking, and catch-and-release tiger fishing along the riverbanks.

With its privileged river frontage you enjoy an immersive experience in one of Africa's most pristine wilderness areas, perfect for adventurers seeking to connect with nature in its purest form.

Day 2: Mana Pools & Sappi Concession

Spend your day on game drives and exploring the surrounding area.

Sapi Concession borders Mana Pools Reserve in northern Zimbabwe, forming part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Middle-Zambezi Biosphere Reserve. Together with Mana Pools, it encompasses a vast protected wilderness of nearly 340,000 hectares, offering unparalleled wildlife experiences.

Here, amidst its wildlife-rich landscapes, you'll encounter hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and vibrant birdlife. The park's acacia-dotted scenery offers essential shade for its vast elephant population. In this remote wilderness, far from human settlements, you'll relish the feeling of isolation and immersion in nature. Winter visits promise Africa's highest concentration of wildlife, making it an unforgettable experience.

Day 3: Transfer to Kanga Camp

Transfer today with others from Zambezi Expeditions to Kanga Camp, which also offers an untouched wilderness experience within a private concession in Mana Pools National Park. Surrounded by vlei lines, mopane woodland, and riverine forests, it reveals intriguing discoveries along the Zambezi River. The centerpiece, Kanga Pan, draws wildlife year-round, offering captivating encounters on enriching African safaris.

Luxury meets the wild with six Meru-style tents featuring floor-to-ceiling mesh windows and solar-powered amenities. Families can reconnect in nature with a spacious Family Tent, while couples can indulge in a romantic stay in the honeymoon tent with a secluded rolltop bath. A tranquil upper deck, full bar, and plunge pool provide relaxation between activities.

Day 5: Transfer to Somalisa Camp

Transfer to Dandawa Airstrip for your flight to Manga Airstrip and transfer to Somalisa Camp.

Somalisa offers awe-inspiring vistas of Hwange's golden savannah plains, where guests can savor sundowners amidst elephants and the distant roar of lions. Hwange National Park's diverse landscapes, from dense forests to vast savannahs, provide an authentic African experience. As a recent repeat winner of the World Travel Awards, Somalisa Camp embodies the essence of the upscale bush camp, nestled under the shade of Acacia trees along an ancient floodplain.

Perfect for a serene safari getaway, the intimate camp blends natural wood and organic elements with modern decor influences. With eco-friendly practices, including solar power and water recycling, Somalisa Camp was Zimbabwe's first GOLD Green Tourism-certified accommodation. Seven stylish tents, set in the heart of Hwange, offer modern comforts and breathtaking views, while activities like walking safaris and game drives provide enriching experiences led by knowledgeable guides.

Day 6-7: Safari in Hwange National Park

Discover Hwange National Park through thrilling game drives, walking safaris, birdwatching, and immersive cultural village visits. As Zimbabwe's largest park, spanning 14,650 sq km, Hwange is a wildlife haven with over 100 mammal species and nearly 400 bird species. Named after a local chief, Hwange boasts a renowned population of 40,000 tusker elephants, making it a must-visit destination. Rich in history, the park's origins date back to its designation as a royal hunting ground for the Ndebele warrior-king Mzilikazi, later becoming a protected national park in 1929. With its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife, Hwange offers an unparalleled safari experience in the heart of Africa.

The dry season, from July to October, offers prime wildlife viewing as animals gather around waterholes.

Day 8: On to Victoria Falls

Transfer from Somalisa Camp back to Manga Airstrip for your 45-minute flight to Victoria Falls Airport. From here, transfer to Elephant Camp for the night.

Nestled within the Victoria Falls National Park, The Elephant Camp offers unparalleled luxury and proximity to Zimbabwe's iconic Victoria Falls. Renowned as one of the country's finest lodges, it overlooks the Zambezi Gorges, providing a stunning vista of the Falls' spray. Indulge in relaxation at the sunken fire pit and swimming pool, or unwind in the private suites featuring a viewing deck, plunge pool, and outdoor shower. With its commitment to luxury and wilderness immersion, The Elephant Camp ensures an intimate safari adventure of unparalleled splendor.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
