The rural setting of El Charabon is located 225 km from Montevideo and 80 km from Punta del Este, near the Atlantic coast and surrounded by the Sierras de Rocha. It is situated on an area of 950 hectares with 150 hectares of eucalyptus forest and natural woodlands. The estancia is a working farm with Hereford and Polled Hereford cattle and Hampshire Down Sheep.
Visitors to El Charabon will enjoy an absolutely wonderful panoramic views surrounded by ravines, rolling meadows and natural grassland, with the variety of flora and fauna that characterizes the rural hills of Uruguay.
El Charabon has 9 suite rooms, of which 5 are of superior category. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a seating area, comfortable sommiers and are individually and beautifully decorated with antiques exclusive to the estancias of Uruguay. For the gastronomic delight of guests, regional and international cooking is prepared fresh and is served with excellent service.

Activities and Entertainment
There are numerous ways to enjoy time spent at El Charabon. Guests will enjoy horseback riding in and out the establishment, photo safaris and trekking the Sierra Rochas. This estancia is an idyllic place for leisurely walks, picnics and the contemplation of nature - not to mention the proximity of the beach and its activities.
As the estancia is a working farm, guests are also invited to join in on the daily activities. There are cattle activities such as rodeo, branding, milking and so much more. Your hospitable hosts are always willing to teach and include you on the care of their animals and to immerse yourself into the life of a true estancia.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
