Day 1: Seattle, WA | Embark

Arrive a day early to explore this incredible destination. Known as “The Emerald City,” Seattle is an amazing metropolis boasts a wide collection of enchanting parks, alluring museums, sporting events, and other diverse attractions.

Roam through the plethora of local vendors at the famous Pike Place Market. Ascend the iconic 1962 World’s Fair Space Needle for a rotating view of the city and sparkling waterways. The ship’s transit through of the famous Fisherman’s Terminal offers incredible perspectives on Puget Sound, the city skyline, and the nearby mountains including Mount Rainer, the tallest mountain in the Cascade Range.

Day 2: Anacortes, WA

Anacortes is a picturesque waterfront town located on Fidalgo Island in Northwest Washington. This vibrant coastal community is home to one of the world’s largest whale-watching fleets, as well as Deception Pass, one of the most photographed places in the Northwest. 

More than 50 miles of trails run through Anacortes and Fidalgo Island, where you can enjoy views of Mount Erie, four fresh-water lakes, old growth forest, and a variety of wildlife, including bald eagles. Explore the downtown, just a few steps from the dock, and peruse its sophisticated boutiques, art galleries, and antique shops.

Anacortes Walking Experience - Complimentary Excursion
Situated on the most accessible island in the San Juan archipelago, Anacortes is a thriving seaside town with a past that reflects its fascinating boom and bust history as well as the entrepreneurial spirit of the area. After a brief historical presentation on board, your local guide will lead you through the town, providing an orientation while you admire the colorful murals which also help to tell the town story. Stop at the West Coast's oldest chandlery and visit a historic park.

Day 3: Friday Harbor, WA

Friday Harbor is a charming town with a rich history and an abundance of character. Small enough to walk from one end to the other, this secluded coastal fishing village is adorned with historic storefronts, picturesque turn-of-the-century houses, and Coast Salish native carvings. 

Explore Friday Harbor’s diverse topography, from pebbly beaches to magnificent mountains and lush valleys. Stroll through the historic district and witness the local population of whales from the Port of Friday Harbor. At the Whale Museum, learn about Spirit, the orca whale American Cruise Lines adopted during the first season on the Puget Sound.

 

Day 4: Cruising the San Juan Islands

Your cruise is as much about the journey as it is about each destination. Today is a day to revel in the scenery, as travelers make their way through the San Juan Islands. Witness the whales, eagles, and seals that adorn the backdrop of the Olympic and Cascade Mountains. Listen to onboard expert describe the native wildlife or simply sit back and enjoy the sun on the top deck.

There are a variety of activities scheduled on board when the ship is underway, which vary depending on the itinerary and scheduled date. Enjoy destination-focused enrichment programs with special guest speakers who present topics related to the region and ports of call, including Art Classes, App-titude Classes (Tech Made Easy), Cooking Demonstrations, Mixology (practice of making great cocktails,) Trivia, Game Shows, and more.

Day 5: Victoria, BC | Port Angeles, WA

The only Canadian town on the cruise, Victoria is a wonderful place to spend a day on a guided tour through the magnificent Butchart Gardens and lively waterfront. Start the tour from the berth in Port Angeles, continuing to Hurricane Ridge with vast views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the mountainous wilderness of Olympic National Forest.

 

Day 6: Port Townsend, WA

Bordered by Puget Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Port Townsend is a historic Victorian seaport with a rich maritime heritage, artistic spirit, and a touch of urban chic. Explore its ornate Victorian-era homes, small museums, and unique art galleries as you view the spectacular snow-capped Olympic Mountains.

The Jefferson Museum of Art & History - Complimentary Excursion
Just a short walk from the ship, The Jefferson Museum of Art & History is located in Port Townsend's historic 1892 City Hall building. Once a fire hall and courtroom, as well as a jail and police station in the late 1800s, the building has many stories to tell. Enjoy an exploration of the museum’s many award-winning exhibits which illustrate the unique history of Native American, Maritime, and Early Settler life in Port Townsend. Visit the historic courtroom, which is now an art gallery, displaying the works of noted regional artists.

 

Day 7: Poulsbo, WA

Poulsbo is a great place to visit for its history, scenery, and lively downtown. Originally a logging camp settled by Norwegians who likened the landscape to the fjords of their homeland, Poulsbo retains a Scandinavian influence. A distinct Native American influence is present in nearby Suquamish, located on the Port Madison Indian Reservation, where a museum is dedicated to the history and culture of this native tribe.

 

Day 8: Seattle, WA | Disembark

Welcome back to Seattle. Relax on the sun deck as the famous skyline of the city draws near. Once arrived, make the most of your time in Seattle with an excursion to the Seattle Center or allow American Cruise Lines to assist with transportation arrangements home.
