Rooms

Standard Suite
Stand-alone elevated timber-floor and spacious suites nestled in the rainforest with amazing river views. Each is linked by raised wooden walkways to the restaurant, bar and library, and feature glass-fronted windows, locally handmade furniture, stylish bathrooms with rain showers, and secluded wooden decks with daybeds and free-standing open-air bathtubs.

Activities

Horse Riding
Experience the thrill of exploring on horseback at Lemala Hamerkop House and Wildwaters Lodge. At Hamerkop House, riders of all levels can enjoy a relaxed ride through Dolly Estate, where wildebeest and antelopes roam. Guided trails offer opportunities to spot diverse wildlife, including the graceful Gerenuk. At Wildwaters Lodge, enjoy a scenic ride through a local village and along the Nile’s banks. For seasoned riders, adventurous overnight safaris venture into remote areas inaccessible by vehicles.
Need to Know:
  • Rides last around 2 hours, depending on pace
  • Morning and afternoon rides are available at both locations
  • Hamerkop House rides: 8 AM & 2:30 PM
  • Wildwaters Lodge rides: 10 AM & 2 PM
  • Advance booking is required to secure horses and guides

Kayaking
Take a Wildwaters Kayak Cruise on the calm waters of the White Nile, paddling around lush islands while enjoying the serene surroundings. No experience is needed, making this a perfect activity for all ages. A knowledgeable guide will share local stories and point out the diverse birdlife that thrives in this unique ecosystem. Departing directly from Wildwaters Lodge, this scenic cruise offers a peaceful way to experience the river’s beauty.

  • Wildwaters Kayak Cruise lasts 2 hours and requires a minimum of 2 people
  • Prices are subject to change

Fishing
Try your luck fishing in the legendary Nile River. If you have your gear, there are plenty of great spots around Wildwaters Lodge where you can cast a line. Local fishermen, who often have the best luck, are happy to share tips on catching tilapia or the prized Nile perch.

  • Worms can be sourced from local fishermen for a small fee
