The Best Time to Visit Turkey

As the summer season starts to end, between September and November is the best time to travel to Turkey. During these months festivals in Istanbul are extremely popular. Hotels and airline ticket prices will be considerably lower during these months and the temperature is comfortable (although in October and November there will be occasional rain showers).

Between December and February is not a very good time to visit Turkey. Rain is frequent, especially during these months. There may even be snow during some days and the temperature will reflect that throughout these months. The benefit of traveling to Turkey during this time is room rates, crowds, and airfare rates will be at their low point.

Between March and May is also a great time to visit Turkey. Although it won't be hot, it won't be extremely cold or rainy in Turkey (although expect some rain). As these months go on (going in to May) prices will slowly raise along with the temperature in Turkey. Additionally, Istanbul's Film & Music Festivals are during these months.

Between June and August is an okay time to visit Turkey. Prices will be at their height and the temperature will be too with seemingly relentless humidity. The main benefit during this season is it's very unlikely to rain, but the heat and humidity make it hardly worth it.
