Today we discovered that it is difficult to change traveler's checks here. After much walking and even more patience, we had our pesos. Decided to ride the BA metro to the zoo. The metro is quite easy to navigate. A thirst forced us to stop at Sullivan's drink house. Ah those Irish! They,re everywhere, thank goodness. Palermo is very pretty and very hip. The zoo was small but entertaining. Around this time John started worrying about missing the US football playoffs. We "just happened" to find the US embassy. John located a US Marine from Brooklyn who gave us the needed info (after much "Semper Fi"ing.)God bless the US Marines. Dinner in a resturant that was off the tourist trail. Dinner half-priced. It was a cool evening so we walked back to hotel. Escorted tour tomorrow.
We have used AL for decades now to plan trips. Kassandra has been with us from the start and has never disappointed. She knows our family and our quirks and is always willing to fit the trip to us. This time we made her work for the booking because of family member schedules. It has all come together for a great Christmas gift for many families.
