Step One
Decide on the specific dates and your preferred length of trip. It is beneficial to try to include a one to two day window of flexibility on either end of your ideal dates.
Step Two
Decide on your top three destinations. Focus on features that may help you to eliminate some possibilities by asking everyone in your family some questions. Around the dinner table, poll your family with the following questions and then give us a call with the information you have gathered. Complete this step along with step three to reach a verdict the quickest.
Do you prefer hot or cold weather?
Are any of the following a must-see? Rainforest, beach, volcano, ruins, ocean.
How important is including in-depth cultural experience? (all of our tours include cultural experience and exposure, yet certain tours are exceptional in offering a real in-depth look).
What kinds of wildlife are you hoping to see?
Step Three
Select activities of interest – perhaps allow each person to choose one or two activities that they would most like to do, with the intention of choosing a tour that includes at least one of each persons’ preference.
Example activities are: rafting, horseback riding, snorkeling, hiking, wildlife viewing, artisan market visit, homestay with a local family, birdwatching, kayaking, hot springs.
Step Four
Give us a call with the information you have gathered in the steps above. Our sales experts will be able to narrow it down to the handful of trips that will suit everyone’s preferences in the best possible way. You may then end the conversation having decided on one particular tour already, or you may have it narrowed to two or three options to discuss with your family. If the latter, continue on to Step Five.
Step Five
After narrowing the field down to two or three tours, peruse the catalog, online information, any articles or other special interest materials at a family meeting. Allow everyone to be as involved as they would like before arriving to a mutual decision.
A great way to get a good feel for each trip is to explore our traveler journals and photo albums. You can do a search by destination or tour name if you click here.
Step Six
Book your trip and start preparing for the family experience of a lifetime!
I’m so glad we found AdventureLife. Jess, our planner, was such a pleasure to work with. She readily shared her extensive knowledge about Panama, she offered good suggestions and creative ideas, kept everything organized and handled the details each step of the way.

My travel planner, Jeff, who is on top of his field (based on travel industry awards), is a highly professional, very effective and, at the same time, personally nice individual. What was also critical to me is that he has a first hand experience traveling in the region that I am going to.
On top of that, the customer relations director, Sarah, has personally followed up to make sure I'm happy.
