Originally the home of a rich merchant, this graceful building has stood for more than 150 years in the heart of Stone Town, bearing witness to the events of Zanzibar’s history and fi nally being restored to an elegant hotel. Being right in the heart of stone town you do not have to go far to fi nd the shops, restaurants’ and the other historical attractions. Walking around the hotel is like being in a museum, with furniture, ornaments and paintings representing all the styles that have been brought to Zanzibar over the years.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip.
