Situated at the highest point on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge stands well over half a kilometer above the crater floor, offering unparalleled views of this vast caldera and providing guests with magnificent sunsets and a unique experience.
Designed to resemble traditional circular African houses with conical roofs, and decorated with examples of Africa's rich tapestry of artistic traditions in the form of rich wood carvings and sculptures, the lodge blends perfectly with its dramatic surroundings. The magnificence of the lodge's location is also reflected in the split-level interiors of the main building, which offer an unsurpassed generosity of space while somehow managing to combine an almost magical, welcoming ambience of warmth and coziness.
The lodge has 91 double rooms and 6 single rooms overlooking the crater below. Each room has central heating and hot water bottles are placed in every bed during the evening turndown service. All rooms have wake-up calls, complimentary coffee and tea, and other amenities to enjoy during your stay.
