Day 1: Palma de Mallorca, Spain | Embark

Arrive in Palma de Mallorca, a major city in the Balearic Islands of Spain, you will be greeted by stunning limestone cliffs that drop into the shimmering blue waters. On land, the city's rich history is on display through its impressive buildings, castles, and cathedrals. Take some time to visit the Gothic-style La Seu Cathedral, which features a massive rose window and a wrought-iron canopy designed by renowned Spanish architect Antonio Gaudí. You can also enjoy a run or bike ride along the seaside promenade that links Palma de Mallorca to the nearby towns of Portitxol and Es Molinar. For those who want to explore beyond the city, the lush Sierra de Tramuntana Valley is a must-see. This mountain range is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major attraction on the island.

Day 2: Ibiza, Spain

Dalt Vila, is also known as Ibiza Town, is a charming city located in the Balearic Islands and it is a wonderful place to explore. It features an ancient port and historic city walls and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ibiza boasts some of the most stunning and famous Mediterranean beaches, such as Ses Figueretes and Playa D’en Bossa. Whether you choose to swim or sunbathe, you'll come across crystal-clear blue waters and sandy beaches that are dotted with beach bars. For a more peaceful getaway, make your way over to S’Espalmador, which is a small, uninhabited island situated between Ibiza and Formentera.

Day 3: Alicante, Spain

The area surrounding Alicante has been inhabited by people for more than 7,000 years, starting with the first tribes of hunter-gatherers of the region. Visit the Plaza de San Cristobal in Alicante’s Old Town where buildings dating back to the 15th and 18th centuries display various architectural styles that show the city’s evolution. Overlooking the famous Playa del Postiguet, the Castillo de Santa Bárbara on Mount Benacantil offers exquisite views. Find your way to the Alicante Central Market to sample delicious, local seafood, produce, meat, and other Spanish delicacies.

Day 4: Cartagena, Spain

Along the south of Spain on the Mediterranean coast sits Cartagena, founded in 227 BCE and inhabited for more than two millennia. From the 2,000-year-old Roman theater to the ARQUA Marine Archaeology Museum, it’s rife with stories for the curious mind to dive into. Driving down dirt roads about 30 minutes outside of Cartagena, you find yourself at the tip of Cape Tiñoso, where the impressive Batería de Castillitos resides. Return to the present with shopping, bars, cafes, and restaurants on Calle Mayor. While Cartagena only has one beach, Cala Cortina, an oasis jewel located within a tiny cove.

Day 5: Almeria (Granada), Spain

With so much to see in the Andalusia region of Spain, Almería is often overlooked. But it has an enchantment, with fairytale castles amid colorful modern buildings. At Cabo de Gata Natural Park you find a spectacular beach of unspoiled sands and blue water with a backdrop of dunes, cacti, and mountains. About 30 kilometers northwest of Almería you also find Desierto Tabernas, Europe’s only desert and the setting of the famous Sergio Leone starring Clint Eastwood. Discover a local eatery in the quaint fishing town of Garrucha to sample the port’s famous red prawns, fresh-caught from the harbor.

Day 6: At Sea

Spend the day on the high seas pampering yourself at the spa or enjoying some time on deck. Mingle with your fellow explorers and swap stories of your exploits, making plans once you get to shore.

Day 7: Tangier, Morocco

A Moroccan port in the Strait of Gibraltar, Tangier has connected Europe and North Africa since Phoenician times. It’s also a less-traveled port, offering a more authentic feel to city life in Morocco. Wander the medina to lose yourself in the narrow streets leading to the Grand Socco marketplace. The Kasbah Museum, the old sultan’s palace restored to its former glory, contains a dazzling array of detailed maps, mesmerizing courtyards, and signature Moorish architecture. Explore the Caves of Hercules, near Cap Spartel just outside Tangier city limits.

Day 8: Malaga, Spain | Disembark

  • 1 Breakfast
The Spanish city of Malaga along the Mediterranean’s Costa del Sol combines the simple, cosmopolitan feel with the quiet sleepiness of local fishing villages. A dive into the past starts with the ruins of the Roman amphitheater, its ancient stones creating the path that leads to Alcazaba Castle. The party starts at Plaza de la Constitucion when the sun goes down. Energy thrums through the city streets as the residents come out for the night. Make your way to Granada to visit the famous Alhambra Palace, an outstanding example of Moorish architecture that attracts travelers worldwide.
