Ruzizi is a cozy lodge by Lake Ihema. It has nine tents hidden among tall trees. There's a reception and dining area made of straw. Wooden paths lead to a cool deck over the lake. There's a fire pit in the middle, great for morning coffee or evening drinks.

Ruzizi can host 20 guests. Each tent has its bathroom and a nice porch with chairs and a table.

The lodge cares about nature. It uses solar power and fits well with the surroundings. Local artists made much of the furniture and decoration. Ruzizi is run by the park, and the money it makes helps protect Akagera's wildlife.

Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.
