In the morning I enjoyed Moroccan tea and a light breakfast and bid farewell to my desert friends. A new driver was there to collect me and take me to Marrakesh. After about an hour, we arrived at the hotel, a lovely 3/4-star option that offered a rooftop pool and bar and was within walking distance of shops and restaurants.
After dropping my bags, I met my guide in the lobby and immediately we took off for a day in Marrakesh. He took me to the major sights of interest, Majorelle Gardens, YSL Museum, and souks, and lucky for me, I got to enjoy lunch with him and his companions, a Friday tradition of couscous and Moroccan tea.
I did a bit of afternoon shopping at the souks and visited a few more mosques and other architecturally interesting places. I also visited one of the oldest parks in Marrakesh where you can see up close and personal the lovely olives growing full and lush right in the middle of the city.
After a long day of learning about the history of the city and meeting plenty of friendly faces, I enjoyed a relaxing evening by the pool with a tasty seafood dinner.

I selected Adventure Travel as I was not satisfied with the responsiveness of the agent for the cruise I was trying to book and it had good recommendations. So far, I am quite happy with my agent, Betty, very responsive and accommodating.
