La Mision de Fray Diego is an old 17th-century mansion, restored and converted into a charming and exquisite boutique hotel in Mérida Yucatán. Around 400 years ago it was part of the Temple of Nuns (Our Lady of Consolation), which currently adjoins the back. The convent was completed on June 22, 1596, which now functions as a chapel. Since the second half of the 20th century, it lost a large part of its structure, passing into the hands of private landowners or the Government, such as the cloisters of the Conceptionist nuns who managed it until October 12, 1867, when they were expelled by General Manuel Cepeda Peraza. , and that today is the Municipal House of Culture. The convent came to include the entire block between the current streets 61, 64, 63, and 66 A.

This Merida hotel is an XVII century home transformed into a boutique hotel, Hotel La Mision de Fray Diego. Only one block from the city's historic center and commercial zone. The hotel offers an on-site restaurant serving regional and Spanish cuisine, and an outdoor swimming pool. La Misión de Fray Diego offers an authentic experience by immersing its guests between historical episodes throughout their stay.

The hotel also has a mini-museum. Teatro Merida (Merida Theater) and the city's main square are within 2 blocks of the La Mision de Fray Diego Hotel. Every guest room at the Hotel Boutique La Mision De Fray Diego is equipped with LED satellite TV and an electronic safety deposit box. Ironing facilities, air conditioning, and a work desk are also included. Guests will be greeted with a welcome drink upon arrival. Free WiFi is available throughout La Mision de Fray Diego. Guests can also enjoy laundry facilities and free on-site parking. The hotel offers the Covid-19 testing service through an agreement with a specialized laboratory to deliver results in less than 30 minutes at a preferential price with assistance in the same hotel.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
