Day 1: Arrive in Antananarivo

Upon arrival, you are welcomed by the guide in the airport hall and transferred to the hotel.

Day 2: Andasibe

Today you meet the guide and drive east toward Andasibe National Park. One of the country’s main roads connecting the major seaport in Toamasina to the capital, Antananarivo. This route is known for heavy traffic. Descend from the highlands via the steep slope of Mandraka, where the forest corridor begins, representing the eco-region of eastern Madagascar. Stop to visit the butterfly farm along the way. Arrive in Andasibe in the afternoon and check into the hotel. In the evening, enjoy a night walk in the Mitsinjo community reserve to observe nocturnal species.

Day 3: Perinet National Park & Mitsinjo Community Reserve

Walk with a local guide to explore this protected area, which is mainly covered in primary forests unique to eastern Madagascar. The rainforest is home to many rare and endemic species. The biodiversity is incredible, and here you'll encounter the Indri indri, the largest lemur, with fascinating behavior that the guide can explain. Other species found here include the Grey Bamboo lemur (Hapalemur griseus), Woolly lemur (Avahi laniger), and more. The flora is also notable, with several species of medicinal plants.

In the afternoon, enjoy a daytime visit to the Mitsinjo community reserve, where you'll discover unique fauna and flora.

Day 4: Manambato | Ankanin'ny Nofy

After breakfast today, continue eastward along the Ravinala road (the traveler's tree) toward Brickaville. From there, a rough track leads to Manambato on the shore of Rasoabe Lake. A boat ride follows, taking you along the Canal des Pangalanes to Ankany'ny Nofy, between lagoons and the ocean. You arrive at Ankanin’ny Nofy in the afternoon.

Day 5: Ankanin'y Nofy: the "Dream Nest"

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. The morning is dedicated to exploring the Palmarium Reserve and encountering the unique wildlife of Madagascar. The afternoon is free for relaxation on the terrace of your bungalow or a walk in the surrounding area. The hotel staff can point out nearby trails and villages. Later in the day, experience an unforgettable encounter with one of the island's most fascinating creatures: the Aye-aye.

Day 6: Andasibe | Antananarivo

After breakfast, take a boat back to Manambato, between the lagoons and the ocean. Upon arriving at the village of Manambato, drive back toward Antananarivo, passing through Andasibe along the way. Continue the journey to Tana, arriving at the hotel in the late afternoon.

Duration: 1h navigation and +/- 8h drive

Day 7: Return Home

After an early breakfast, take a walk to the upper town to explore the historic old town, navigating narrow streets and steps around the Queen’s Palace with a knowledgeable historian guide. Afterward, transfer to the airport. If time allows, visit the crafts market in Antananarivo for some shopping. Check-in for the flight and prepare for departure.
