A charming lodge, allying luxury and wild nature in a typically tropical environment, the Princesse Bora Lodge & Spa is a warm and human-sized hotel. It is located on Sainte-Marie Island, in the East of Madagascar.

Graduate of The Architecture school of Paris La Villette in April 1996, Sophie Démichilis specializes in Ecological Habitat. With international experience, especially in Senegal where she contributed to the design of a hospital, she built Princesse Bora and created this beautiful place in 1999.

Princesse Bora Lodge & Spa is an Ecotourist destination.

BORA KITE KITESURFING CENTER
Bora Kite is a kitesurfing center located in the southeastern coast of Sainte-Marie Island in Madagascar facing the Ankarena lagoon, 4 kilometers from the Princesse Bora lodge. The Austral winter (May to September) allows having constant winds of dominant South – South East.

WHALE WATCHING IN SAINTE-MARIE
The humpback whales are listed in several places around the world. In the southern hemisphere, they migrate during winter from Antarctica to warmer water for reproduction and for giving birth. That takes place when they are coming in Sainte-Marie channel in Madagascar.

The humpback whales can reach up to 16 meters long and can weigh up to 30 tons!

Every year, from July 1st to the end of September, Princesse Bora Lodge & Spa, with CétaMada NGO, organizes daily whale-watching experiences. It is the opportunity to discover this marine mammal with an eco-guide who will answer all your questions.

Departure is every morning from the Princesse Bora Lodge and Spa’s beach, with our boat, for three hours of whale watching. You will contribute, by this way, to the CétaMada data scientific collection.

COCOBAY SAINTE-MARTE
Leave the Lodge by boat to spend a timeless day at Cocobay, a property of Princesse Bora Lodge and Spa, in the North of Sainte-Marie in Madagascar.
Black granite rocks gently rest in crystalline waters, surrounded by thousands of coconut trees. This combination gives the place a breathtaking atmosphere. Your program when reaching Cocobay is snorkeling, fish barbecue under the trees, farniente, stroll and of course taking in the breathtaking views.

ILOTS AU SABLE SAINTE-MARIE
Have a picnic on the sand islands, often colonized by numerous birds. It is an unexpected place surrounded by the Indian Ocean and with a view on the island of Sainte-Marie’s East coast.

ILE AUX NATTES SAINTE-MARIE
Reach the tiny island of Ile Aux Nattes in Sainte-Marie situated just a few minutes from the Princesse Bora Lodge with a traditional pirogue. Once there, island transit can only be made by foot, across a small path that leads to an ancient lighthouse. Take your way back by taking a path on paradisiacal beaches, just like in a dream.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own.
