Begin your day with a short transfer south to Madaba to visit Mount Nebo, where Moses gazed upon the Promised Land beyond the Jordan River.
After the visit, take another short transfer, approximately 10 minutes, to a nearby village of Fayha to avoid the traffic of Madaba. Here, the cycling route begins by heading south on quiet roads through the Madaba plateau's plains. The terrain includes a mix of off-road and on-road, including dirt tracks, rocky paths, and gravel roads. As you descend towards the Dead Sea Highway, you'll reach the lowest point on earth.

Begin today with a long transfer to visit Shobak Castle, the first of the series of Crusader Castles built in Jordan. It was constructed by Baldwin I back in 1115 and surrendered in 1189 to the Great Salahdin. After exploring Shobak, you'll have the opportunity to cycle off-road on a variety of dirt tracks and roads to reach Little Petra. This stage of the Jordan Bike Trail is considered one of the most epic routes, as it contours around the mountains of Dana and Petra, offering stunning views across the Jordan Valley. If time permits, we can also explore Little Petra before concluding the ride.

After breakfast, you can start your hike and enter Petra via 'The Back Door' to avoid most of the tourists. The tracks are good and go pleasantly down Wadi Ghurab amidst sandstone mountains that guard the approaches to Petra. This way follows a Nabataean route out of the valley and skirts around the final mountain on a natural rock terrace. The terrace has been improved for the safety of walkers. Even so, it still narrows slightly before reaching a hidden plateau high above the impressive chasm of Wadi Siyyagh.
Just ahead, you'll spot 'The Monastery'. It's a stunning sight, carved into the cliff face. If you want to take a break, there's a Bedouin café here where you can grab refreshments and enjoy the view. From here, you can follow the Nabataean steps down into the ancient city of Petra, and on your way out, you'll pass by 'The Treasury' and through the famous 'Petra Siq' before reaching the shops, cafés, and hotels of Wadi Musa.
Hiking Distance: 8.69 miles/14 km - 9.94 miles/16 km, Ascent 496m, Descent 519m
Hiking: 4-6 Hours (Depending on the time spent inside the site of Petra)
After breakfast, take a 40-minute transfer out of Wadi Musa following the King's Way.
Starting at approximately 1600 meters, the cycling trail winds down a pleasant descent towards the village of Toghra, where the pavement meets the dirt. As the journey progresses towards the south, the trail gradually flattens as it approaches Wadi Rum. You can take a break and enjoy a cup of tea with a local Bedouin family along the way to learn more about their unique culture. After the break, the cycling continues towards Wadi Rum, crossing some sandy segments and mud flats.
After the ride is over, you can take a jeep safari to explore the World Heritage Site of Wadi Rum. The safari takes you through valleys, canyons, dunes, and deserts, where you can discover rock inscriptions and enjoy breathtaking views of mountains, landscapes, and narrow gorges. You can also hike, scramble, and explore on your own at each stop along the way.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
The trip was planned well. They worked through local travel planners in the two countries we visited. The trip planner was fairly knowledgable, but she could have been better. The hotels selected were good. There were a few things I think they could have planned better related tot he transportation between the carious locations we visited, but it was a great trip overall.

Excellent experience within the limits of what they can do. I often find myself as the square peg in a round hole being largely an independent traveler who appreciates qualify assistance when I can get it. Having used Adventure Life in places they can do about everything I know they're quality and look to them when and where I can. Kassandra specifically is knowledgeable, personable and respinsive.
