Day 1: Arrive in Jakarta

Welcome to Indonesia!

Upon arrival in Jakarta, a VIP service staff member awaits to escort you through fast-tracking immigration service, helping you collect your luggage, and connecting you with your driver. From there, you'll be transferred to your airport hotel, allowing you to settle in for a comfortable night's rest.

Day 2: Flight to Pangkalan Bun

After breakfast, you are transferred to the Jakarta Airport for your flight to Pangkalan Bun. Upon arrival, the local staff and guide meet you at the Pangkalan Bun Airport and transfer you approximately 20 minutes to Kumai, where you'll board the houseboat. Lunch is served onboard before cruising down the Kumai River for about 15 minutes to reach the Sekonyer River, the main river in Tanjung Puting National Park.

As you cruise up the Sekonyer River, you'll witness beautiful vegetation, including Nipa Palm, Pandanus, and various trees growing along the riverbank. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as birds, Macaque, Proboscis monkeys, and orangutans. If time permits, you'll also visit the Orangutan feeding in Tanjung Harapan this afternoon.

This evening, enjoy dinner and spend the night onboard the Super Deluxe Houseboat in Kumai.

Day 3: Boat Trip Orang Utan | Wildlife Spotting - Camp Leakey

After breakfast, cruise the waterways through tea-colored water to see the perfect reflections from the vegetation along the river. You may even see freshwater crocodiles! Stop along the way to observe proboscis monkeys or other wildlife. After lunch on board, visit Camp Leakey, the research and information center, where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rainforest. From the center, set off on a trek through the tropical rainforest to see orangutans, birds, and other rainforest animals and jungle plants. Keep an eye out for noisy gibbons, deer, and wild boar. Return to the boat for dinner and move to a quiet mooring for the night.

Day 4: Boat Trip Orang Utan | Pondok Tangguy | Tanjung Harapan

During your early breakfast, the klotok cruises slowly downstream following the black water canal, spotting wildlife in the forested riversides, and then turning into the muddy Sekonyer River. You head for Pondok Tangguy, the rehabilitation center for new ex-captive orangutans, to see their feeding time at 9 o’clock. Return to the boat and cruise downstream for an afternoon visit to Tanjung Harapan rehabilitation center, where you'll witness additional feeding time and take the opportunity to hike further into the forest, exploring this incredible jungle.

Day 5: Boat Trip Orang Utan | Pondok Tangguy - Trekking

Today, the boat cruises upstream early in the morning for a full-day trek from Pondok Tangguy, accompanied by the ranger. On the way, keep an eye out to observe wildlife through this area of secondary forest. During your trek, you'll enjoy a packed lunch in the forest. Return to the boat for dinner and overnight in a quiet location on the river.

Day 6: Kumai | Pangkalan Bun Airport | Flight back to Jakarta

After breakfast onboard, you'll boat down to Kumai and then transfer directly to Pangkalan Bun Airport for your flight back to Jakarta.

Upon arrival, meet your guide and drive to your hotel in Jakarta.

Day 7: Flight to Labuan Bajo | Boat Trip Komodo Rinca

Today, transfer to the airport for your flight to Labuan Bajo.

Upon arrival at Labuan Bajo Airport, you are transferred to Labuan Bajo harbor (approx. 20 minutes drive). After harbor clearance, you'll head to Kelor Island by yacht, which takes approximately 40 minutes. Once at Kelor Island, enjoy incredible underwater views with a snorkeling excursion. Afterward, you'll have lunch on the boat.

After lunch, move to Rinca Island, which takes approximately 1.5 hrs by yacht. On Rinca Island, you'll go trekking and see some of Indonesia's wildlife highlights, the Komodo Dragons. If you are lucky, you'll also see other wild animals such as Timor deer, buffalo, monkey, snake, etc.

In the afternoon, anchor in Kalong Island for an overnight stay, and you can enjoy the sunset while the bats (Kalong) fly out from their nests in the mangroves.

Day 8: Boat Trip Komodo Rinca

Early this morning, move from Kalong Island to Padar Island while enjoying your breakfast with a view.

Padar Island offers spectacular views after trekking to the highest point of the island. This has become one of the favored spots in Komodo islands and trekking to the high point takes only 1-2 hours at your leisure.

After trekking, return to the yacht and move to the pink beach. Here, you can go snorkeling at Pink Beach to see the amazing marine life and also relax on a pink sandy beach, perfect for photos!

Enjoy lunch on the boat while you move to Komodo Island; taking approximately 1 hour by boat. Komodo Island offers more fantastic trekking opportunities to spot wildlife and get up close to the Komodo Dragon.

After trekking, return to the boat and move to Kalong Komodo Island to stay overnight.

Day 9: Boat Trip Komodo Rinca

Today, after breakfast, head to Manta Point, the best site to see the manta rays. Here you can snorkel and have a chance to see the manta rays and other sea creatures in their natural habitat.

After a morning swim with the Manta, head to Gili Lawa Island which takes about 1.5 hours, Gili Lawa is a beautiful small, and relaxed uninhabited island, located in the Northern part of the Komodo National Park. It faces the wide and deep by of Komodo Island and offers amazing views and white sand beaches, especially at sunset.

Tonight, enjoy dinner and a good night's sleep on the boat.

Day 10: End of Boat Trip Komodo Rinca | Labuan Bajo

On the last day of cruising, it is recommended to do the trekking in Gili Lawa Darat starting around 5 am to catch an incredible sunrise over Komodo National Park. After your morning trek, return to the yacht for a fulfilling breakfast.

Afterward, transfer back to the harbor. Upon arrival at the harbor, the driver is waiting to bring you to your accommodation in Labuan Bajo for a good night's sleep.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).
