Samboja Lodge is a venture of Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Foundation. Here you are able to gain first-hand knowledge on what is required to rebuild a forest and protest its wildlife, especially the efforts to preserve the rainforest and critical endangered Bornean orangutan.
Samboja lodge's unique design is based on local architecture. All interior and exterior walls are made from recycled materials. The cosmetic touches are all traditional handicraft and are produced by local and Dayak communities around the area. It is surrounded by lush vegetation and each room has its own patio or balcony from which to enjoy surrounding forest.

The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
