Isla de Flores is one of the projects of our founder, Don José Antonio Ortiz, an entrepreneur whose career is deeply linked to the history of Petén and Tikal. Mr. Ortiz started in 1994 with an 18-room Bed & Breakfast, developed to meet the lodging needs within the island. In 2012 the lodging evolved to become a hotel, adding 12 new rooms, a pool located on the terrace of the building, the restaurant called "Achiote" and the bar "El Remolino". The new generations of the Ortiz family follow the dream of its founder, father, and grandfather, Don José Antonio. In 2019 they began a new stage of the business incorporating new services and venues, such as design bars: Mango's, Joboo, the renovation of the El Remolino bar, the launch of the Asar Steak & Grill restaurant.
