Day 1: Arrive Baltra | Santa Cruz, Highlands | Charles Darwin Station

Arrive early in the morning at Baltra airport where you'll meet your guide and start your Galapagos adventure. After taking the quick ferry to Santa Cruz, visit the Highlands, where Giant Tortoises can be seen in their natural habitat. Followed by a tour of the Charles Darwin Station, an important research facility with an extensive collection of Galapagos plant life specimens. Make your way to the Galapagos Habitat Hotel and enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening at the hotel.

Day 2: Santa Fe | South Plaza

Take a 2-hour boat ride to Santa Fe Island, also called Barrington Island after British Admiral Samuel Barrington. Santa Fe was formed by uplifted, submarine basaltic lava, created some 4 million years’ ago. A big part of this is a faulted plateau covered with a forest of giant Opuntia cactae. This afternoon, visit South Plaza, which was created by lava that was uplifted from the sea bed, this unique location has resident wildlife and diverse plant life.

Day 3: North Seymour | Bachas Beach

Take a 2-hour boat ride to North Seymour Island, a great hiking spot. There is a circular path about 2 miles long that crosses the interior of the island which allows you to explore the rocky coastal path. On this trail, you are able to discover some of the largest seabird colonies in the Galapagos Islands. Later on, visit Bachas Beach, here you can choose to rest and/or swim in the wonderful Galapagos waters.

Day 4: Batholomew | Sullivan Bay

Take a 2-hour boat ride to Bartholomew Island, an island surrounded by turquoise waters and beautiful beaches. The island is a now an extinct volcano with a variety of red, orange, green, black and shiny volcanic formations. This afternoon, visit to Sullivan Bay. Here you can see some amazing lava formations, which are a product of a 1903 volcanic eruption.

Day 5: Chinese Hat | Dragon Hill

Take a 2-hour boat ride to Chinese Hat, a very small volcano close to Santiago Island, surrounded by small spatter cones. It's one of the smallest Galapagos Islands but don't be fooled: it has a unique visitor site with an unforgettable view! Later in the day, visit Dragon Hill, one of the few visitor sites directly related to a conservation program led by the Charles Darwin Foundation and the Galapagos National Park. It was named after the land iguanas, considered the Galápagos’ “dragons”.

Day 6: Gemelos | Transfer Out

  • 1 Breakfast
After breakfast at the Galapagos Habitat, visit the spectacular Gemelos or Twin Craters, located in the Highlands of Santa Cruz Island. These craters are surrounded by endemic Scalesia forests. Then take the Ferry to Baltra and transfer to the Baltra Airport to catch your flight to the mainland.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
