Lobos Island, Tijeretas Hill and Interpretation Center - San Cristobal Island

We explored Isla Lobos the following morning. The name means sea lion; thus, we found many of them here, either lounging in the sand or playing in the water. We also did a mini-hike on rocks and saw some birds, including these blue-footed boobies. One of them is dancing and showing off its wings and feet, which I think is part of their courting ritual.

Spotted these frigatebirds nesting too.

And more and more sea lions. These are babies hanging out with each other while waiting for their moms to return with food and a mom feeding her newborn.

Then mid-day after our exploration at Isla Lobos, we landed in Puerto Baquerizo, with these sea lions playing in our dinghy.

This is our fifth day on the cruise when our seven companions disembark the ship. Only Mai and I remained, and we were joined by other five new travelers from here. We were actually very excited for this day to come because, finally, we'll be able to connect to wifi after four days of no internet connection and no communication with our families. Oswaldo told us to dine at one of the restaurants and ask for the wifi password. We went to La Regata, stayed there for about 3 or 4 hours, and chatted with our loved ones online.

We met with our new companions after lunch at the Hammerhead dock. We were a total of seven in this new small group. We rode a bus to the Interpretation Center and walked on a pathway to reach the center, showcasing the history of the Islands and humans. Then, we hiked through the wooden and stone trail up to the Tijeretas Hill, named after the frigatebirds. It was quite a difficult hike for us, about an hour hike, so we took some pictures along the way to get some quick rest.

Of course, we got to see some frigatebirds flying around, then continued our walk through the pathway again to reach Punta Carola and saw some sea lions.
