From infants to great grandparents, a trip to the enchanting Galapagos Islands can make for an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime family vacation for the entire family.
It's a fun way to share the wonders of nature as a family and a way to devevlop a lifelong bond with friendly creatures in their natural habitat. Activities like snorkeling, swimming, & kayaking are engaging for the whole crew, and in Galapagos, a normally boring hike is transformed into a guided odyssey into a natural world surrounded by exciting creatures and exotic ecosystems.
Ages 9 Months to 90 Years +
Because of our wide range of Galapagos tour options, children of nearly any age can be accommodated in the Galapagos. On Galapagos cruises, some yachts are better for kids than others, and safety and limited facilities onboard can be concerns for very young children, so many yachts have a minimum age of 6 or 7. Because of the difficultly of activities, our
Galapagos Multisport 9-day tour has a minimum age limit of 10 years.
Check with one of our Galapagos trip planners about minimum or recommended ages for any of our Galapagos tours.
Teens
There aren't specific teen-oriented activities like one would find on a huge cruise ship in the Caribbean. The Galapagos Islands are more like a living, breathing classroom where biology and geology are experienced, not read about in a book. Any teen with a modest interest in nature, biology, evolution, volcanoes and geology won't have time to be bored in the Galapagos.
The Grandparents
The Galapagos are very much catered to relatively active seniors well into their 80's and beyond. Most hikes are short.
