The journey to South Plazas Island will begin at the meeting place. Plazas, as many call it, have an incredible landscape, and on your arrival to it, have a dry landing while sea lions welcome you at the shore. Begin your walk along a path through an Opuntia Cactus forest. Don't be distracted by the landscape beauty because you must watch out for your steps. There are many land iguanas, the smallest species in the archipelago! Continuing your tour, reach the fantastic, windy cliff. Here, the red-billed tropical birds, swallow-tailed gulls, brown pelicans, and the impressive frigate bird usually fly around. The trail meanders along the edge of the ridge for a few hundred meters. While you continue your walk, you will find the well-known "single sea lion colony": a heterogeneous collection of male sea lions, mostly elderly, who have lost their territories. Yet, surprisingly, they climb up the cliff via some rocky steps. Try to spot some of the battle scars and shark bites that many of these lone sea lions have on their bodies.
After your lunch onboard the Galaxy Daily, discover the Galapagos marine fauna while snorkeling. With some luck, see white-tip sharks and a great variety of fish, sea turtles, and rays. After this journey, return to the Itabaca Channel, where a bus will be waiting for you to take you to Puerto Ayora's pier, where the adventure of this day ends.
