Ship Type: Expedition Cruise ShipOperated by: Albatros ExpeditionsOcean Albatros, the sister ship to the Ocean Victory, will join Albatros Expeditions' fleet in 2023. The Ocean Albatros is perfect for exploring world-class expedition cruise destinations, including Antarctica and the Arctic, along with many new destinations throughout both polar regions. The ideal vessel for small-ship sailing thanks to her solid build and X-Bow®-Infinity class, which gives superior stability in adverse weather and allows for the smoothest motions on large waves, as well as a Solas 2012 certification that ensures a safe return to port.
The vessel is part of a new breed of low-energy vessels, powered by four diesel engines and two electric motors that are all electronically regulated to maximize speed and fuel efficiency. In addition to being one of the most environmentally friendly expedition ships, the vessel will have a carbon footprint that is more than 50% lower than that of a regular expedition ship.
The Ocean Albatros is a state-of-the-art expedition cruise ship with two restaurants, a wellness area, a Roald Amundsen Lounge Bar, an open-deck dining facility, and a sophisticated lecture hall. Other highlighted features include a Medical Center, a Mudroom, an Observation Deck and Lounge, a Ship Shop, a Lobby area (Reception Desk), a Library, and a Wellness Center (with Fitness, Spa, and more).
There are 95 spacious bedrooms and suites on the Ocean Albatros, all with unrestricted views of the ocean, and most with their own private balconies, making it one of the world's most popular expedition ships. Unlike the Ocean Victory, the Ocean Albatros will also include a unique panorama sauna and a total of 12 dedicated solo travel cabins. Each balcony features a small table and two lounge seats. 60% of all cabins are available for triple occupancy (a third person can be accommodated on a pull-out couch/sofabed)
