Sail the historic canals and rivers of France aboard the 22-passenger Jeanine, a premium CroisiEurope canal barge that was completely refurbished in 2013 to transform it into a modern vessel on the waterways. Her modest size at 38.5 meters long and 5 meters wide allows MS Jeanine to navigate narrower canals on the route and invites guests to indulge in a relaxed, authentic, and more intimate cruise experience.
A six-man crew is on hand to provide superb personalized service. At the same time, brightly colored interiors give the boat character and make it stand out from other European barges on France’s waterways.
12 cabins with private en-suite facilities and window. All cabins are equipped with private en-suite facilities (shower and WC), TV, radio, telephone (for internal calls only), safe and independant air-conditioning.

Accommodations
As a small hotel barge, Jeanine has 11 Double Cabins, measuring 8 square meters, for 22 passengers. Measuring 8 square meters, all cabins are comfortable and well-appointed, fitted with a window and private ensuite facilities. Other features include a TV, radio, in-room safe, telephone for internal calls, hairdryer, towels, and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are also fitted with independent air-conditioning so passengers can adjust the temperature wherever they are on the tour.
Despite the more intimate atmosphere on the MS Jeanine barge, there are numerous common areas where guests can lounge and relax.
Lounge Bar: A well-stocked bar, seats, and vibrant interiors make the lounge an excellent spot to kick back and wind down with family and friends. Just a few steps from the dining area, this is a great place for mingling in between meals and after-dinner cocktails.
Restaurant: Passengers enjoy all meals at the restaurant on the main deck. With warm lighting and tasteful décor, the casual yet elegant area is a pleasant space to savor the delicious chef-prepared dishes served on Jeanine. Large windows offer panoramic views, giving guests the chance to enjoy the sights even during meals.
Terrace & Jacuzzi: Soak in the beautiful atmosphere of France in the open-air terrace on the Upper Deck. Found at the front of the canal barge, it features chairs, tables, and parasols for guests who want to spend the afternoon outdoors. A Jacuzzi on the terrace offers an opportunity for a soothing dip.
Sun Deck: Travelers can head to the Sun Deck to laze on lounge chairs and make the most of sunny weather. It’s the best place on board for panoramic views of Doubs Valley’s spectacular landscape as it rolls by.
The cozy, relaxed atmosphere aboard Jeanine extends to the dress code. Passengers on the barge typically stick to casual clothing and comfortable shoes, especially on excursions.
Bicycles are available onboard for guest use. Wi-Fi is also provided.

Hotel barge Jeanine sails in inland France, along Rhone-Rhine Canal and the Doubs River. The seven-day cruise meanders along historic waterways, stopping for guided tours of Baumes-les-Dames and the Citadel of Besançon. Hiking and biking excursions are available.

About CroisiEurope
An independent French family business, CroisiEurope has been a pioneer in European river cruising since it was established in 1976. Over the years, the cruise company has developed a strong presence worldwide, offering small-ship cruises on rivers, canals, and seas of Southeast Asia, Africa, the United States, and exotic Egypt and Jordan.
Key to the company’s long-standing success is the ever-expanding CroisiEurope fleet, which the cruise line developed with utmost attention to detail and commitment to innovation. Every vessel is designed to suit the nature of its route, from the characteristics of the waters to environmental issues in the region. Each ship is well-maintained and modernized, with the fleet consisting of gems such as Anne Marie, MS Déborah, Madeleine, and Raymonde.
Sustainability and eco-friendly measures are also a priority for CroisiEurope. Every ship is fitted with water-saving equipment and treatment systems for water, used oil, and waste. Green engines and devices are incorporated to save electricity and reduce carbon emissions. The company has also shifted to gas-to-liquid (GTL) fuel when plying the Seine.

The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.

Creating a checklist was very beneficial and meeting objectives on certain dates helped as well (to keep my trip organized). The Adventure Travel personnel helped keep me on track which is why my trip was so successful. Communication from both travel agencies (AT/MT) was vital.

This is an amazing company to work with. I generally do not use tour companies as I am more of an independent traveller so I was slightly reticent. They were fantastic from the start - 10/10 - from lining up a phone call to discuss requirements, then their ongoing communication in the lead up to the tour and during it (thank you, Franny and Phen). They also explored cost-effective options (eg group transfers). The tour was in Patagonia so Adventure Life organised a pickup from the El Calafate airport to the El Chalten accommodation, two day hikes with a private guide and then to the El Calafate accommodation. A tour coordinator came to the hotel to explain, using the maps, what was involved in each day tour and what should be expected, and patiently answered all questions. The tour guide Marcos was excellent - very professional, knowledgable, communicative and at all times felt very safe with his navigational skills (important in the Patagonian wilderness). On the second day I forgot to take hiking poles so Marcos kindly gave me his. I honestly wouldn't have changed a thing and would happily recommend and book through them again.

Adventure Life has been great throughout my planning process for our up and coming Galapagos cruise. Kevin Moore, in particular, was very helpful in assisting me in making choices and providing me with options. He was also very patient, as I worked through figuring out what I really wanted in this vacation.
