Activity options vary depending on destination and operator. Activity level is determined by the range and intensity of activities you choose to participate in. Discuss with your Trip Planner which options are best for you.
Your expedition leader will meet you at Marina Bahía Golfito, and after a short walk, board the expedition yacht M/Y Kontiki Wayra. Take your first boat ride this afternoon and try to spot dolphins. The captain and crew will greet you warmly, with a concierge handling the welcome briefing and cabin assignment. Head to the sundeck to enjoy a stunning sunset. After your welcome dinner, participate in an evening safety and expedition briefing.
Start your day with a visit to Los Mogos and pamper yourself with a day to relax before your week full of activities. Savor this remote natural spa with serene waters as you unwind and quietly observe your surroundings for some much-needed alone time. Admire the lush rainforest blending with the emerald waters ashore while you hear the crisp sound of the falling leaves, keeping an eye out for playful monkeys or macaws that inhabit the area. Enjoy a picnic on a private beach with full bar service and an oceanic club deployed.
Enjoy your lunch onboard. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided Kayak expedition to the mangroves in the nearby Rio Esquinas to witness the breathtaking sunset that colors the horizon.
Arrive in Punta Adela for a very special underwater excursion: a submerged coral trail that is part of a project to rebuild the coral population in Golfo Dulce, a tropical fjord that is a nursery for many different species, including hammerhead sharks. Beautiful schools of fish and other species await!
Return to the yacht for lunch. Take part in a workshop in the afternoon that is led by members of the Boruca community, one of Costa Rica's few indigenous communities. Discover their traditions and cultural significance while taking a close look at how they paint their famous wooden masks. Enjoy dinner onboard.
Today, disembark in Puerto Jimenez harbor and head to Finca Kobo, a traditional Costa Rican cacao farm that will facilitate an examination of Theobroma Cacao's history. During the hike, learn about growing and harvesting cacao and try the fruit directly from the tree. Witness the fascinating chocolate-making process and indulge in various tropical fruits and freshly made chocolate fondue.
After a fascinating chocolate-making process, return to the yacht for lunch. In the afternoon, experience marine activities and panga rides to spot the two types of dolphins that inhabit the gulf. During whale season, you can also spot humpback whales with their calves as they come to warm waters to mate and reproduce.
Disembark in Corcovado National Park with a wet landing on the beach at La Sirena Ranger Station. The crown jewel of the South Pacific, Corcovado, sits like an emerald crown on the Osa Peninsula. Renowned as one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, its ancient rainforests teem with life. Towering trees pierce the sky, their limbs draped in emerald vines and vibrant bromeliads. Scarlet macaws flash through the canopy, their calls echoing through the humid air. Tapirs, elusive and shy, weave through the undergrowth, while spider monkeys swing acrobatically from branch to branch. On the forest floor, jaguars, the top predators in these untamed areas, stalk unseen, their presence a whisper.
Lunch on board. Relax onboard sailing in the afternoon before your next stop in Golfo Dulce, one of the four tropical fjords in the world.
Today, visit Isla del Caño and discover a unique underwater adventure to explore one of the Pacific Ocean's largest and best-preserved coral reefs. This island is a perfect spot for snorkeling and scuba diving, but it also has great conditions for the upbringing of young Humpback whales, and it is not uncommon to see them around during whale season (July-September). Enjoy a morning of a guided snorkeling expedition.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch onboard. In the afternoon, take advantage of the oceanic club's marine activities, which include islands, piers, seabobs, kayaks, SUPs, and slides. Enjoy dinner onboard while overnight sailing to Drake Bay.
After breakfast, a private transfer will take you for a 60-minute ride to Savegre River for a special White-Water Rafting Class. Savegre River offers II and III-class rapids in the purest waters of Costa Rica. Its bends and turns offer adrenaline and excitement to people of all ages, and no previous experience in rafting is required. Enjoy the vibrant wildlife and flora while floating and jumping off your raft to swim in calmer waters.
Return to the yacht for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon of marine activities in Biesanz Bay with a kayak exploration of the surrounding area, snorkeling, paddleboarding, gliding with our Seabobs, or enjoying the amazing oceanic club. This evening, savor your farewell dinner onboard.

We had a great experience- they were very helpful in trip planning and making sure we got to do all the activities and see the places we wanted. There were some things we couldn't do/see due to the time of year being the rainy/low season and they steered us away from those. We had never been to Costa Rica before and it gave us a good overview of this lovely country.
