Enjoy two kinds of half day tours:
Half Day Tour- Orongo takes you to see the extinct volcano Rano Kau, with a large viewpoint of the coastline and views of Hanga Roa. Continue on to the Rano Kau crater and Ana Kai Tangata cave to see paintings of sea birds and fish.
Half Day tour- Akivi takes you to the historic platform of the 7 Moais restored. Next, visit Ana Te Pahu Cave with its volcanic galleries then visit the quarry of Puna Pau.
If a full day is preferred, enjoy a visit to Rapa Nui quarry where you will find 887 statues, all at various stages of construction. Next, visit Ahu Tongariki and view its 15-foot statues. This site is known as the "Navel of the World", along with the Ahu Te Pito Kura. End the tour on Anakena beach to view the 2 restored platforms of Ahu Nau Nau and Ahu Ature Huki.
The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
