Lisbon is the capital as well as the largest city in Portugal. It is also one of the oldest cities in the world. Lisbon has two sites listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites: Belem Tower and Jeronimos Monastery. The city stretches along the banks of the Tejo River.
Arrive at Lisbon and disembark after breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your continued independent journeys.
Optional Activities:
Lisbon – Snapshots of Lisbon: This introduction provides a look at the highlights of Portugal’s charming capital. As you head to the oldest part of the city, your licensed guide points out some of the major sites that can be enjoyed from the motor coach. The Alfama Quarter - the layout of this ancient quarter intrigues you with its ambiance, maze of alleyways and narrow, cobbled streets lined by closely packed houses, many of Moorish design. Continue with your drive through the city center to Alto do Parque Belvedere for a photo stop and to enjoy the magnificent view over the city. Once across the span, pause for photos at the base of the Monument Chris the King, a 361-foot-high statue portraying the sacred heart. Jeronimos Monastery - crossing the bridge once again proceed to this 16th-century architectural masterpiece designed in Gothic Manueline style. Belém Tower - next, proceed to Lisbon’s prominent landmark dominating the bank of the Tagus River. From this lavishly decorated tower, Portuguese explorers were given a rousing send-off. (Photo stop) Leaving the Belém area, you are taken to the airport. Duration: 3.5 hours

Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.
The trip was planned well. They worked through local travel planners in the two countries we visited. The trip planner was fairly knowledgable, but she could have been better. The hotels selected were good. There were a few things I think they could have planned better related tot he transportation between the carious locations we visited, but it was a great trip overall.

Excellent experience within the limits of what they can do. I often find myself as the square peg in a round hole being largely an independent traveler who appreciates qualify assistance when I can get it. Having used Adventure Life in places they can do about everything I know they're quality and look to them when and where I can. Kassandra specifically is knowledgeable, personable and respinsive.
