Isle del Sol

Best vacation ever! Today was incredible! We arrived at Isle del Sol in Lake Titicaca. We traveled to Copacabana, then took a 1.5 hour boat ride to the island, which may be the prettiest place on Earth. We hiked an hour from the shore up to our eco lodge, passing pre-Incan ruins, farmland, burros, and llamas on the way. The view of snow-covered mountains across the lake was unbelievable. The eco lodge itself is a masterpiece, relying on solar power and gray water to water the grounds. All the fresh water for the lodge is brought up the in tanks on burros. Dinner was fresh trout from the lake. Before dinner, we hiked to the top of the island to watch the sunset, which was a highlight of the trip.
