Today we get to catch our breath and have a relaxing beach day. Thatch Caye has a variety of activities that we could do at our own leisure, from ping pong to sea kayaking to lounging on the beach.
Beth decided to start her day sea kayaking around the island (the island is about a mile long), Samuel thought that he would try and swim along with Beth, that didn't last long. Beth (who is a very strong swimmer) had to relinquish her kayak so that the tired Samuel (not as strong of a swimmer as he thought) could rest. Their adventure allowed them to explore the island's coast at their own pace.
If I have the option to take more morning rituals a little slower, I'll take it. The idea of circumnavigating the island piqued my interest and I decided to use a SUP as my mode of transportation. I quickly learned that the local island dogs are eager to join anyone for a cruise as they both hopped on my SUP for a little joy ride. As much as I love dogs and having companions on my outings, they did not make my trip easy. By the time I reach the northern point of the island the dogs had tipped my raft twice. Halfway around the island I gave up with having both dogs and made the rest of my journey with just one. The dog that was left behind followed us the rest of the trip. The sea kayak probably would have been a more stable option, but the SUP gave me a better vantage point to view the activity in the water and on shore. There were large orange starfish scattered along the ocean floor. I saw 3 eagle rays, 5 southern rays, and 2 nurse sharks. It was a successful outing, even with the unexpected dog dunks.
Jess was great. Our plans changed and we had to make some adjustments and she was super helpful. Finding us a cost-effective alternative to our original trip plan.

Erin was easy to work with and very helpful. She was patient and helped us figure out the adventure tour we were hoping for in Belize. Can’t wait to go on this trip!

Belize adventures
I've worked with Adventure Life before in planning trips and appreciate the quality of trips they put together. They use knowledgeable local guides, comfortable lodgings, and assist with transportation. I find trip planning stressful, so am happy to turn it over to them. They work within our parameters of time, budget, activity level, and types of activities to give us great experiences!

Jess was so helpful in talking me through some of the trip options I'd told her I was interested in, and then also bringing up similar alternatives with more flexible dates. Now that everything is booked I realize all the extra things she figured out for us as well, besides booking the transfers from and to each location, she realized that we wouldn't make it to my desired flight time on three departure date and was able to easily add another day so that even our departure day is stress free!
