Singapore is a modern, open, and forward-thinking city that feels like a glimpse into the future. Home to nearly six million people, it’s designed to feel spacious, with plenty of outdoor parks, large indoor gardens, and relaxing public areas tucked between tall buildings in what’s often called the “City of Gardens.”
Once a small fishing village, Singapore has grown into a shining island city-state known globally for its achievements in science, education, and technology. The city is impressively clean, and its fast, reliable public transportation makes getting around quick and easy.
Striking fountains and bold skyscrapers rise across the skyline, many built with traditional feng shui in mind. At night, they light up in colorful, glowing displays. Nature lovers can visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a 52-hectare UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with lush greenery and vibrant orchids. For a walk above the treetops, head to the MacRitchie Reservoir Park and explore its hanging bridges.
One of the city’s most iconic spots is Marina Bay, where three connected towers overlook sparkling waters dotted with islands. Just a short ride away, you can visit Little India and Chinatown, two neighborhoods rich in culture and history. Here, you’ll find stunning temples like the Thian Hock Keng Temple and the Sri Mariamman Temple.
Singapore’s food is a delicious mix of Indian, Chinese, Indonesian, and Malay flavors, combining the best of each culture. You can enjoy a great meal in a high-rise restaurant or sip a classic Singapore Sling cocktail while admiring the glowing skyline.
